NAU held the third Zhongshan International Young Scholar Forum

May 28th, the grand open of the 3rd NAU Zhongshan International Young Scholar Forum took place by livestream. CHEN Ligen, Chancellor of NAU, CHEN Fadi, President of NAU, LI Binglong, deputy director of the Talent Office of Jiangsu Provincial Department of CPC Organization, SHEN Qirong, Chairman of NAU Academic Committee, and WANG Yuanchao, Associate President of NAU attended the opening ceremony. Over 80 young scholars from 15 countries and regions joined the live forum.

CHEN Ligen extended warm welcome to all young scholars participating in the livestreaming forum and sent his best wisher to all who were influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic. He said, the university shoulders the responsibility of developing agriculture through educating students with integrity. With the efforts of all faculty and students, NAU has made huge progress in the development of first-class disciplines, leading research outputs, international reputation and first-class education. Meanwhile, placing great importance on talent introduction, NAU has introduced a series of actions to improve the welfare and development system for newly employed faculty. Top universities take talent as the priority. The competition among world universities ultimately is the competition of talents.” CHEN expressed his sincere wish that young scholars studying abroad return to homeland after obtaining degrees and dedicate to the development of three rural and the cause of higher education.

CHEN Fadi reported on the history, discipline development, faculty growth and research platform of NAU and illustrated the Zhongshan Scholar Program and the employment package for young scholars.

LI Binglong introduced the talent introduction program of Jiangsu Province at different levels and the university faculty development in Jiangsu Province.

As a faculty working at NAU for over 40 years, SHEN Qirong introduced the campus culture and research strengths of NAU.

WANG Yuanchao chaired the opening and exchange sessions. 


The livestreaming interaction between young scholars and forum guests were very active and productive.

On May 28th and 29th, parallel sessions were organized by the Colleges of agriculture, plant protection, resources and environmental sciences, life sciences and engineering.

The Zhongshan International Young Scholar Forum presents a platform for gathering young scholars both home and abroad to seek career development and faculty growth.
