NAU Horticultural Professor Chen Fadi Awarded Title of Yangtze Scholor

At the beginning of 2015, Chinese Ministry of Education issued the name list of professors and lecturers selected for “Yangtze Scholar Program, 2015”. Professor Chen Fadi, from College of Horticulture, NAU, has honorably been included.

Professor Chen is a senior expert on the study of chrysanthemum, spending many researching on high-quality germplasm resources and the breeding of new varieties. Within the past 5 years, he has published more than 70 SCI papers, as corresponding author, in a series of academic journals, including BMC Biol, Scientific Reports, Genom Biol Evol, etc. Meanwhile, he has obtained 18 invention patents as well as 18 authorized new plant varieties. In addition, he has won several national and provincial level of prizes and awards in horticultural science. His persistent effort has promoted the upgrading of both commercialization and scientific research on chrysanthemum.

According to other resources, Professor Chen Fadi just won the funding from the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. So far, a total of 14 professors of NAU have successfully received the funding from this project.
